Safety instructions for electric model building items
Read and follow these safety precautions and instructions carefully before use.
This product is a model building item for the experienced modeller and collector. It is not a toy. Due to its life-like and true to scale reproduction and functional form, this product contains peaks, edges and delicate small parts. For assembly and installation, tools like a sharp cutter, soldering iron where applicable, a sharp pair of scissors and special glue are necessary. Therefore, appropriate work with this model building product does pose risk of injury! For that reason this product is not for children. Upon completion, this product is designed to be installed on to a model railway layout, diorama etc.
Keep this product as well as all accessories (soldering iron, glue, paints, cutter etc.) out of reach of children under 3 years of age!
Never put the connecting wires into a power socket! Risk of electric shock! Only connect to a transformer! Regularly examine the transformer for damage to the cord, plug, case etc. In case of any damage, do not use the transformer!
Only operate the product when it is in perfect condition and only under supervision! Disconnect the product from the power supply or mains voltage if you are going to be away for a longer period of time. Operating the product at too high a voltage can lead to damage. Incorrect connection of the product or continuous operation can lead to fire or smoke development. If there is a smell of burning or smoke, disconnect the product from the power supply immediately. Always select the cable cross-sections according to the connected loads and secure them if necessary. Cross-sections that are too small can pose a fire hazard. Never open or repair an electronic product yourself.
Busch lamps are equipped with light emitting diodes (LEDs) which produce a lifelike illumination and work with a voltage of approx. 2 volt only. The correct current supply for the LEDs is ensured by resistors (thicker parts of the cables) which may not be removed to avoid the destruction of the lamps. The cables of the lamps are to be connected to a transformer with a 14–16 volt AC or DC output.
Do not eat, drink or smoke while using this product. Adequate ventilation must be provided during soldering, as toxic fumes are generated which must not be inhaled. Do not touch the heated soldering iron or liquid solder to avoid burns. Working with a lighter (e.g. for heat shrinking tubes) can cause burns to the skin and fires! Therefore, keep the lighter flame away from flammable objects or flammable liquids!
Busch Feldbahn locomotives contain magnets that ensure continuous power pickup through increased pressure on the tracks. Keep magnets out of reach of children! Swallowing a magnet can be fatal. In this case, consult a doctor immediately.
